My grandfather was born to the trade – into a family of furniture makers who exported furniture around the Caribbean. The greatest gift that he passed down to me was creative vision.
This natural ability developed early in life through necessity. Being the youngest of 5 children I rarely received anything that was new. I quickly discovered practical ways of creating something new in all the handed down things which I was given to work with.
I had an appreciation for mixing patterns and quickly developed my intuitive ability with colour, creating my own sense of style and making the best use out of what was given to me. This was a great stepping stone for my life as a designer!
With this interest at heart, I graduated from a three year program of Interior Design at Sheridan College. It was during a trip to Banff that I experienced something that has stuck with me to this day. It was in the serenity of the view that surrounded me, the turquoise water, blue sky, the edges of the mountain peaks, I felt at ease, peaceful, like being at home. In that moment, I knew that as a designer, my focus was to create the same emotion for clients, the essence of a space that feels peaceful and that nurtures the needs of their soul. Creating harmonious spaces has been my passion and my purpose for the past 20 years and this is my way of helping others!
